Valrhona Dutch Processed Cocoa Powder Giveaway!!!

Posted on: June 30, 2009

7519LI read the P&Q about the delicious double chocolate cherry cookies, and it looks like many of you don’t have access to dutch processed cocoa powder.  I use this Valhrona dutch processed cocoa powder and LOVE IT.  I get it at this awesome LA store Surfas.  I am jealous that Wendy gets to shop there in person, I have to order on-line.

Anyhow, to thank all of you for baking along with me, and for putting up with my sometimes very deliquent adminitrative efforts, I wanted to do a giveaway for this cocoa powder.   One lucky SMS member will be the proud owner of 1lb of this awesome cocoa powder.

  • Open to SMS members only.
  • Open until Thursday, July 3, 2009 at Midnight (PST).
  • I will post the lucky winner on the 4th of July (before heading out of town until the 13th).
  • To enter, leave a comment with a link to the #1 dessert/baking post of yours (or someone else’s but preferably yours) that you would like me (and other SMS’ers) to try!

Good luck and THANK YOU!

I’d love to win the Dutched cocoa. I actually have some, but it’s almost gone, and I have no idea where I got it! Best dessert: s’more brownies. I actually made this recipe up, and am very, very proud of it.

I’d love to win this as I’ve no idea what it actually is and would like to try it in comparison to the stuff I usually use!

At first I was going to link my 14 layer cake, but its really one for a special occasion and not worth the effort just to have around the house so I’m going to link Madeleines.

They may not look much but they taste like pure heaven.

Well, I just opened the Surfas link and realized that I am going to have to place an order. However, I would certainly love to win a giveaway of this precious stuff. My #1 baking or dessert post that I’d want you to try? Hmmmm…that’s tough. I love everything, but right now I’d say that these little cookies are perfect for summer.

So good!

I love the idea for the giveaway- I’ll be checking out everyone’s must bake recipes…

Mine is a super simple cookie but always impresses a crowd- yellow cake cookies:

CHOCOLATE!!!!! Wooooohoooooooo!

So far my most favorite recipe is Ina’s Strawberry Country Cake.

Oooooooh Vahlrona cocoa! That sounds wonderful. I always bring tons of Dutch processed cocoa with me from Holland when I visit but would love to give this one a try.
With the summer upon us, I thought that the Stovetop Chocolate Pudding would be perfect. It’s creamy, rich and delicious. You get to use cocoa and there’s no need to turn on the oven :o)

Thanks for organizing the give-away, Lorelei!!! Have fun on your trip.

How fun and generous of you!

Croissants of course:

Dorie’s Caramel Crunch Bars were insanely delicious! I couldn’t stop eating them.

Ohhh…yum! This is a recipe that I entered in a national cheese recipe contest. A couple of weeks ago they featured me our local ksl tv show. I made this recipe on air-boy was I nervous! It is yummy, I hope you like it.

Berry Brie Stuffed French Toast

Awesome – you totally rock! 🙂 One of my favorite recipes is from my grandmother, passed down to my mom and finally down to me. It’s soooo yummy – hope you enjoy it!

Forgot to mention the actual product! 🙂 It’s a Chocolate cupcake (which can be made into a sheet cake, of course) using brewed coffee… yum!

The pineapple upside-down cake I just made was heavenly…

Oh, Chocolate!

I would have to go with my Green Tea Cupcakes. I had made them for two occasions and the whole thing tastes amazing!

OH. MY. GOSH.!!!!! That is my most favorite cocoa powder IN THE WORLD! No joke. I didn’t even know you could get a bulk container like that!

Sorry, I’m just REALLY excited here!

So, probably the one recipe on my blog that is a sweet treat I wish everyone would try would have to be the Triple Threat Chocolate Praline Cookies I made long, long ago not long after I started blogging. Homemade pralines, double chocolate cookies – they were insane!

I would love to make a chocolate cake with this!

What an awesome giveaway. I think my #1 post is my last one for Rhubarb Custard Tart. It’s a Melissa Murphy original recipe. It was my first time working with rhubarb and I absolute loved it. This type of recipe is exremely out of my comfort zone. So I am very proud that it worked out so well.

Wow, I’d love to win the cocoa. It’s hard to get dutch processed cocoa around here. The closest I can get is the Hershey’s Special Dark, which is a combo of Natural and Dutched.

I really loved the tartest lemon tart:

Even though I’m usually more of a chocolate person. That tart was great.

oh wow that is a hard one to say – which baked good is one of my favorites??? so hard to decide! I guess I would want you to try this one, it’s easy and I love it:

Chocolate cookies :)!!!!!

I had a really tough time coming up with the #1 dessert post on my blog – but I’m going to have to say my favorite is this:

I recommend these raspberry bars: http://efforttodeliciousness.blogspot.com/2009/05/raspberry-bars.html

And thanks for the link! If I don’t win, I will definitely order some Valhrona from Surfas. I’ve been buying it at Sur La Table, but much better to get it in bulk. It’s dreamy cocoa, it makes any chocolate dessert better.

I cannot find that cocoa anywhere! I love these:

There really is cocoa beyond Hershey’s?! 🙂

Tomorrow I’m making these http://bakingbites.com/2009/07/red-white-and-blue-chocolate-dipped-strawberries/ not too sweet and not heating up the oven…but way cute!
